Erasmus+ projects integrate AI and digital skills into European education

Several educational initiatives are focusing on digital competency and artificial intelligence within European schools. The GenSTEAMers project, an Erasmus+ international collaboration, aims to enhance STEAM education through the responsible use of generative AI (genAI). Spanning partners in Ireland, Greece, Spain, and Serbia, the project seeks to train teachers in using AI tools to foster critical and creative thinking. A key outcome will be an ‘Action Plan Kit’ containing STEAM projects and a guide for AI integration in classrooms.

In Croatia, the STEMpo project, titled ‘STEMpo – Rhythm of the Community: Digital Competencies for Human Development,’ is implementing revised workshop schedules for October 2026. This initiative, co-financed by the European Union’s European Social Fund Plus, involves multiple partner schools in Osijek and Podgorač. The workshops focus on developing digital skills and critical thinking through various educational tools.
