Erasmus+ projects promote environmental sustainability through youth mobility

Erasmus+ initiatives are fostering environmental awareness and sustainability through various youth-led projects in Turkey.

Yozgat Bozok University has secured 23,676 Euros in funding for its Erasmus+ DiscoverEU project, titled “From Yozgat to Europe, we're on the road for the environment!”. The project aims to provide young people, particularly those with limited access to international mobility, with opportunities to explore European environmental practices. Participants will study topics such as waste management, energy efficiency, and eco-friendly urban planning to bring these sustainable insights back to Yozgat.

In Uzungöl, the “Soil Guardians for a Greener and More Sustainable Future” project brought together 30 young participants from Turkey, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and the Czech Republic. This Erasmus+ Youth Exchange focused on addressing soil erosion, climate change, and sustainable agriculture. Through field visits to local farms and workshops on permaculture and soil restoration, the program provided practical experience in ecological farming and environmental protection.
