Erasmus+ student exchanges focus on sustainability and water management

Students participating in the Erasmus+ program have completed recent exchange projects focused on environmental issues in Spain and Italy.

In Valmojado, Spain, students from GSG-Lünen collaborated with their partner school, I. E. S. Cañada Real. The exchange centered on sustainability and renewable energy. Participants conducted climate checks to evaluate the Spanish school’s energy, water, and waste management practices and visited local solar installations to study the practical application of renewable energy.

In Italy, a delegation of 12th-grade students engaged in an exchange focused on flood protection and water management. The program compared the storm surge challenges faced in East Friesland with the river flooding and drought issues prevalent in Italy. During the visit, students explored the Adelasia Nature Park, observing how changing water levels and drying riverbeds affect local communities.
