Erba: Trees in front of Sant'Eufemia Church to be preserved

The municipality of Erba has reversed its decision to fell five lime trees located in front of the historic Sant'Eufemia church. This change follows an intervention by the Soprintendenza, which issued a formal opinion stating that the area in front of the church is protected from a historical and architectural perspective.

The Soprintendenza, led by Beatrice Maria Bentivoglio-Ravasio, also recommended the conservation of 15 healthy lime trees located along via San Rocco, describing them as an organic part of the urban context. While the project to remove the trees near the church has been scrapped, the municipality intends to proceed with other parts of the project along via San Rocco.
