Erbendorf volleyball court opens while Austrian Jörgerbad remains closed until 2027

The Freibad in Erbendorf, Germany, is closed for extensive pool renovations this season, but the on‑site volleyball field has been reopened. Access is granted only through the blue gate beside the main entrance, and officials plan to install a new ball‑catch net and refresh boundary lines. Mayor Bernhard Schmidt thanked residents for their patience and encouraged volleyball enthusiasts to use the facility.

In Hernals, Vienna, Austria, the Jörgerbad complex – comprising an indoor pool and an outdoor pool – has been shut down immediately for a major overhaul slated to last until the end of 2027. The €5.25 million renovation will replace water‑treatment and ventilation systems, upgrade the roof structure, improve energy efficiency, and modernise changing rooms and pool circulation. The city expects the closure to affect 40,000‑45,000 summer visitors and advises swimmers to use nearby district pools such as the Kongressbad and Schafbergbad.
