ERC announces key candidates for November 29 general elections

Esquerra Republicana de Catalunya (ERC) has announced several key candidates for the upcoming general elections on November 29. The party's National Executive has designated Norma Pujol to lead the list in Tarragona and Inès Granollers to lead in Lleida. In Barcelona, Gabriel Rufián has been officially confirmed as a candidate for the Congress of Deputies after meeting the required number of endorsements.

For the Senate, the party has selected journalist and former deputy Francesc-Marc Álvaro to head the candidacy. This move follows the decision by current senator Sara Bailac not to run again. In Lleida, Omar Noumri, the mayor of Castelló de Farfanya, has expressed his intention to lead the ERC Senate list, noting he has the support of former deputy Joan Tardà.

In Girona, the party faces an internal primary process to determine its candidate, as both Teresa Jordà and Etna Estrems have submitted candidacies. The voting for the Girona leadership is expected to take place on October 17.
