Ercan Airport to implement new traffic regulations

New traffic management regulations are set to be implemented at Ercan Airport to resolve congestion issues near the Arrivals Terminal. Following a meeting led by Enver Öztürk, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, several measures were finalized to improve the flow of passengers and vehicles.

To prevent bottlenecks, a dedicated waiting area will be established within the parking lot for all tourist vehicles, including taxis and buses. Only five taxis and five buses will be permitted to wait directly in front of the Arrivals Terminal at any given time; additional vehicles will be summoned from the parking area via radio when needed.

Additionally, the airport parking lot's entrance and exit points will be relocated to redirect traffic more efficiently toward the main airport exit. For citizens picking up passengers in private vehicles, a parking fee of 50 TL for the first hour has been established. Local municipal police will enforce parking restrictions, issuing fines and towing vehicles that obstruct designated routes.
