Erciyes University to open new 21-lab agricultural research facility

Erciyes University is preparing to open the Mehmet Çıkrıkçıoğlu Laboratory Building to bolster the scientific research and application capabilities of its Faculty of Agriculture. The new facility, constructed at a cost of approximately 65 million TL, features 21 specialized laboratories.

The building is designed to support various academic departments, with an average of three laboratories allocated to each. Research areas will include plant production, soil and fertilizer analysis, plant protection, animal science, and food technology. This infrastructure aims to enhance both undergraduate and graduate education by providing advanced environments for experiments, analysis, and interdisciplinary projects.

University Rector Prof. Dr. Fatih Altun noted that the project is a result of the university’s strong ties with philanthropists, specifically thanking Mustafa Çıkrıkçıoğlu and his family for their support. The facility is expected to become operational within the coming weeks, serving both academic research and regional agricultural consultancy needs.
