Italy and Albania strengthen cultural cooperation through MAXXI Foundation
Italian Culture Minister Alessandro Giuli visited Tirana, Albania, to strengthen cultural cooperation and support Albania’s integration into the European Union. A key outcome of the visit was the presentation of a strategic report by the MAXXI Foundation aimed at the reopening and reorganization of the National Gallery of Arts in Albania. This initiative includes a three-year cooperation program between the two institutions focusing on curation and staff training.
In Italy, various cultural and regional events are underway, including the opening of the ‘Sappho’ exhibition at the Colosseum Archaeological Park in Rome, dedicated to the archaic Greek poet. Other regional initiatives include the ‘Festival della Tuscia’ in Viterbo, the ‘Giornata delle Ville Venete’ in the Veneto and Friuli regions, and the fifth edition of the Japanese Culture Festival in Civitavecchia. Additionally, regional walking paths in Veneto and local autumn festivals in Umbria and Oltrepò Pavese are promoting sustainable tourism and local traditions.
