Ercolano receives 13.7 million euros for urban regeneration
The Campania Region and the Municipality of Ercolano have signed a Program Agreement regarding PRIUS funds to finance six urban regeneration projects. The total investment is valued at 13.7 million euros, utilizing both European and regional resources.
Planned interventions include the redevelopment of Corso Umberto and via Cook, the creation of the Parco del Mare, and a new video surveillance system for underpasses. Additionally, the plan includes a new equipped green area in San Vito and the transformation of the former nursery school on via Marconi into a municipal nursery. A Sports Park is also planned through the program’s premium quota.
These projects are part of a broader investment framework in the area, which includes the new waterfront and works at the Archaeological Park of Ercolano. Regional Councilor for Territorial Government Vincenzo Cuomo stated that these structural interventions aim to improve space quality, security, service accessibility, and the valorization of cultural and tourist heritage.
