Ercole Nucera elected President of Grecanica Area Mayors Association

Ercole Nucera, the Mayor of Roccaforte del Greco, has been unanimously elected President of the Association of Municipalities of the Grecanica Area – Southern Ionian Slope.

The election involved mayors from various municipalities, including Bagaladi, Bova, Bova Marina, Brancaleone, Bruzzano Zeffirio, Cardeto, Condofuri, Ferruzzano, Melito di Porto Salvo, Montebello Jonico, Motta San Giovanni, Roghudi, and San Lorenzo, with the Mayor of Staiti participating remotely. The representative from Palizzi was absent.

Nucera stated that his commitment will focus on revitalizing a region characterized by significant historical and cultural value but facing economic fragility and progressive depopulation. The new presidency aims to consolidate dialogue between member municipalities, promote a unified territorial vision, and support initiatives to enhance cultural, environmental, and human resources.
