Istanbul Chamber of Industry President Erdal Bahçıvan to step down

Erdal Bahçıvan, President of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry (ISO), has announced he will not seek re-election after serving since 2013. Reflecting on his tenure, Bahçıvan noted that his leadership focused on being a voice for industrialists through challenges such as global financial fluctuations, the COVID-19 pandemic, and high inflation. He expressed his support for Ender Yılmaz, the current President of the ISO Assembly, who is running for the presidency.

In Antalya, Davut Çetin, a candidate for the Presidency of the Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ATSO), proposed that the city should aim to host specific branches of the 2036 Olympic Games. He suggested that Antalya could act as a strategic partner to Istanbul’s Olympic ambitions rather than a competitor, leveraging its tourism and sports infrastructure.

In other regional developments, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu visited Sivas, where he reaffirmed the government's commitment to ongoing infrastructure projects and expressed confidence in the upcoming election cycle. Meanwhile, in Isparta, Yeni Parti officials met with A. Ünal Turgut, a candidate for the Isparta Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to discuss regional economic development and production goals.
