Erdek municipal police clear unauthorized equipment from beaches
Municipal police in the Erdek district of Balıkesir have cleared unauthorized equipment from the Çuğra and Kanava beaches to restore public access. The operation targeted tables, chairs, and umbrellas that had been secured to the sand with chains.
Led by Police Manager Osman Hüseyin Erdoğan, teams cut the chains and removed the items after previous warnings had been ignored. Authorities applied fines to citizens who failed to comply with the removal requests, citing the Law on Misdemeanors. The municipality stated that inspections will continue to ensure the beaches remain organized and accessible for public use.
