Erdem presents Spring 2027 collection in London

Designer Erdem Moralıoğlu presented his Spring 2027 collection at the Roundhouse in North London, moving away from his usual venue at the British Museum. The collection explores the boundaries between masculine and feminine attire, drawing inspiration from Barbette, a famous American acrobat from the 1920s known for performing with a feminine illusion despite strict gender norms of the era.

The runway featured a circular setup to match the seasonal narrative. Key pieces included crystal-covered bodysuits, circus-inspired tailored suits, and capes trimmed with jacquard. The designs emphasized a tension between traditional masculine tailoring—such as emphasized shoulders, lapels, and defined waists—and romantic femininity, utilizing elements like lace, three-dimensional floral applications, and sheer fabrics.
