Erdemir reports $201 million net profit for first half of 2026

Turkish steel producer Erdemir reported strong financial and operational results for the first half of 2026. The company's net profit rose significantly to $201 million, up from $46 million during the same period the previous year. Sales revenue increased by 10.4% year-over-year, reaching $2.801 billion.

Operationally, Erdemir maintained an EBITDA margin of approximately 10% and achieved a crude steel capacity utilization rate of 95%. The company produced 4.3 million tons of steel and sold 4.2 million tons, with direct exports representing 14.2% of total sales.

Chairman Murat Yalçıntaş attributed the performance to the company's "smart production" vision. Through the 'Work in Transformation Program,' Erdemir has integrated artificial intelligence and advanced data analytics into its processes, specifically utilizing 'Digital Twin' modeling in iron production to optimize costs. Additionally, the company noted its role in supporting national defense projects, such as the Altay Tank and National Aircraft Carrier, while pursuing a transition toward low-carbon, green steel production.
