Erdin Kadunić returns to Sarajevo after 44 years in Germany

Erdin Kadunić, a journalist and court interpreter, has moved his family from Düsseldorf, Germany, back to Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, after living in Germany for 44 years. Kadunić stated that the decision was driven by a sense of belonging and a desire for his children to grow up in a different environment.

While acknowledging that life in Bosnia and Herzegovina is not without its challenges, Kadunić noted improvements in infrastructure, institutions, and digitalization. He highlighted the social warmth and interpersonal empathy found in his home country as significant factors, contrasting it with the social atmosphere he experienced in Germany. He expressed an expectation that the number of returnees from various countries may increase as economic pressures affect citizens globally.
