Nidda fatal crash kills two teenagers; Leon Baptiste jailed in Morocco
In Nidda, Germany, a fatal car accident occurred involving eight teenagers aged 14 and 15. The 15-year-old driver and a 14-year-old passenger died at the scene after their Mazda CX-5 veered off the road and collided with a trailer attached to a construction truck. Six other teenagers sustained serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals. Two workers in the truck were also injured, one seriously and one lightly.
Separately, British former athlete and coach Leon Baptiste is serving an eight-month prison sentence in Marrakech, Morocco. Baptiste was arrested in May for the sexual abuse of a minor. His initial ten-month sentence was reduced to eight months following an appeal. The British Foreign Office has confirmed it is in contact with Moroccan authorities regarding his detention.
