Turkey announces 19,000 TL monthly support for NEET youth
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has announced a major support package for young people in Turkey who are neither in education nor employment (NEET), providing monthly cash assistance of 19,000 TL. This initiative aims to reduce youth unemployment and integrate young people into the production cycle.
During the 75th anniversary of the İlim Yayma Society, Erdoğan also addressed the influence of “techno-oligarchs” on the younger generation. He warned that these global tech elites seek to shape the future according to their own interests, potentially harming youth through digital platforms. He emphasized that the “TEKNOFEST generation” would serve as a safeguard against these influences by focusing on science, technology, and national values.
Additionally, the Turkish government is addressing social and security concerns regarding youth. Discussions have centered on preventing child labor in vocational training and increasing security measures in schools following recent incidents of violence. On the diplomatic front, Erdoğan highlighted the importance of the Turkish World, noting that the upcoming 13th Turkic States Summit in Ankara will further strengthen regional cooperation and unity among Turkic nations.
