Turkey blocks secret US-Israel plan to destabilize Iran via Kurdish fighters

According to reports from The Telegraph, a secret joint plan by Israel and the United States to destabilize and overthrow the Iranian regime has been halted following diplomatic intervention by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

The proposed strategy, reportedly developed by Mossad in coordination with the CIA, aimed to deploy thousands of Kurdish fighters from Iraqi Kurdistan into western Iran. These fighters were intended to operate under U.S. air support to trigger an internal uprising against the Tehran government. The operation was allegedly scheduled to commence in mid-March.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reportedly presented the comprehensive plan to U.S. President Donald Trump during a meeting at the White House on February 11. However, the initiative faced significant opposition from Ankara. President Erdoğan reportedly warned Washington that Turkey would not tolerate the creation of an independent Kurdish entity or the strengthening of armed groups near its borders.

In addition to Turkish pressure, the plan reportedly faced skepticism within the U.S. administration. CIA Director John Ratcliffe expressed reservations, and some officials characterized the scenario as unrealistic. The combination of Turkish diplomatic vetoes and U.S. hesitation led to the cancellation of the operation.
