Erdogan and Netanyahu clash over Palestinian agenda and peace plans

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is attempting to use regional chaos and new conflicts to remove the Palestinian issue from the international humanitarian agenda. Following a meeting with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ankara, Erdogan asserted that Turkey remains committed to the Palestinian cause and its struggle against attacks on holy sites, such as the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.

Simultaneously, tensions have emerged regarding a 15-point peace plan promoted by US President Donald Trump. Netanyahu has reportedly rejected the proposal, which includes a ceasefire, the disarmament of Hamas, the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza, and the transfer of Gaza's administration to an independent Palestinian committee. This rejection is viewed by analysts as a move driven by Netanyahu's domestic political needs ahead of Israel's elections.
