Erdogan claims PKK cannot achieve separatist goals
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the PKK has realized it cannot achieve its separatist goals. Speaking at the Presidential Complex in Ankara during a reception for veterans and families of fallen soldiers, Erdogan noted that the organization has been forced to accept its inability to meet objectives both within Turkey and in Syria.
Erdogan emphasized that the ongoing 'Turkey without terror' process will involve no compromises regarding the fundamental characteristics of the Turkish state, national values, or the sensitivities of military families. He described the current process as the final phase of multi-year counter-terrorism efforts, noting that the Turkish parliament took a significant step this week toward eliminating terrorism from the country. He affirmed that the process is being developed based on law and democracy while security units continue to monitor all developments.
