Erdogan reaffirms Turkey's support for Palestinians and calls for new world order

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reaffirmed Turkey's commitment to supporting the Palestinian and Lebanese people. Speaking following a cabinet meeting in Ankara, Erdogan addressed his recent 16th address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Erdogan criticized Israel's military operations in Gaza and the West Bank, describing them as “state terrorism” and a genocide. He also expressed frustration that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was unable to attend the UN General Assembly due to visa restrictions, calling the situation a “shame for humanity.”

During his UN address, Erdogan proposed a five-point framework aimed at establishing a new world order centered on increased justice, stronger representation, trust, and prosperity. He also noted Turkey's ongoing stances regarding the Russia-Ukraine war and regional tensions involving Iran.
