Erdogan signals warning to Lebanon following Miraj Ural arrest

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has signaled a political warning to Lebanese security apparatuses following the arrest and transfer of Miraj Ural to Syria. Ural, also known as Ali Kayali, is accused by Turkish authorities of involvement in the 2013 Reyhanlı bombings and massacres in Baniyas, Syria.

The operation, described as successful intelligence cooperation between Ankara and Damascus, reportedly involved the participation of six Lebanese individuals, three of whom were detained. Reports suggest Ural was moved from the Mansouriyeh area to Syria without the knowledge of Lebanese authorities.

This development sets a potential precedent for foreign intelligence agencies conducting operations within Lebanese territory without local state consent. The incident raises questions regarding Lebanon's role as a potential refuge for individuals accused of crimes linked to the Syrian regime.
