Eretria authorities investigate poultry remains found on Malakontas Beach
Thousands of poultry and turkey feet were discovered washed up along a 20-meter stretch of Malakontas Beach in Eretria, Evia, on Saturday, August 22. The sudden appearance of the remains caused significant concern among local visitors and residents.
Following reports from citizens, the Eretria Coast Guard and municipal officials were notified. A municipal team arrived at the scene to manage the cleanup, successfully removing all remains from the shoreline by approximately 1:00 PM.
Nikos Gournis, the Mayor of Eretria, has filed a formal complaint against unknown perpetrators with the competent Coast Guard. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the origin of the poultry remains, how they reached the sea, and the identity of those responsible for the disposal.
