Erfelek chestnut harvest begins in Sinop, Turkey

The chestnut harvest has commenced in the Erfelek district of Sinop, Turkey. Known for its thin shell and sweet aroma, the Erfelek chestnut is a significant regional product that sees high demand from across the country.

Due to favorable seasonal conditions, producers expect an increase in yield compared to the previous season. As the first products of the new season hit the market, prices are currently high, ranging between 500 and 800 Turkish Liras per kilogram. Sellers anticipate that prices will decrease in the coming weeks as the harvest progresses and supply increases.
