Erfurt hosts '100 gegen Rechts' cultural week to counter far‑right rally
Erfurt organised a city‑wide cultural programme called “100 gegen Rechts” from 25 June to 5 July, timed around the AfD federal party congress scheduled for early July. About 100 artists, musicians and cultural venues take part, offering concerts, readings, film evenings, lectures and workshops. The opening concert on 25 June at the Zughafen features the Bremen punk band Team Scheisse supported by Geegees. Additional events include an anti‑fascist choir, the “Kleine Rampe” concert, family‑friendly programmes and a “Tolerave” party.
Organizer Andreas Busch says the aim is to “draw attention to things we don’t like happening in our city” and to encourage a democratic stance against right‑wing extremism. The programme is intended to mobilise citizens, provide a cultural counter‑point to the political rally and show solidarity with democratic values.
