Erfurt hosts fifth Graphit-Festival for illustration and sketching
The fifth Graphit-Festival, a symposium dedicated to illustration and urban sketching, is scheduled to take place in Erfurt, Germany, from September 25 to 27. Established in 2018, the biennial event aims to bring together professional illustrators and hobbyists alike through a variety of lectures, workshops, and open formats.
Organizers, including Julia Rühr of Graphit e. V., emphasize that the festival is designed to foster community and connection through art rather than strictly academic study. The event kicks off at Haus Dacheröden with artist presentations, including a session by Gabriela Jolowicz, who is known for her detailed large-format woodcut works. The festival utilizes Erfurt's active cultural scene and its status as a state capital to attract participants from across the country.
