Erfurt police recover stolen Mercedes Sprinter after burglary

A 37-year-old man's Mercedes Benz Sprinter was broken into on the night of September 11, 2026, in Erfurt, Germany. The vehicle had been parked on Langen Graben.

An unknown perpetrator smashed the driver's side window to steal valuables visible from the outside. It is suspected the thief was interrupted during the crime, as several items—including tools, tobacco accessories, and headphones—were left behind in the vehicle.

Police discovered the damaged rental van during a patrol and towed it to secure the scene due to the amount of items left inside. The driver was able to reclaim the vehicle on September 12, 2026.
