Ergün Atalay addresses labor issues at İYİ Party workshop
Ergün Atalay, President of the TÜRK-İŞ Confederation, addressed economic challenges facing workers and retirees during the ‘Labor Workshop for a Good Future’ hosted by the İYİ Party in Ankara. Atalay emphasized the necessity of highlighting the struggles of minimum wage earners and the inadequate living conditions of pensioners.
During his remarks, Atalay called for the fulfillment of permanent staff expectations for subcontracted workers who have long served in public sectors. He also issued sharp criticisms regarding corruption and financial mismanagement, stating that those who act dishonestly must be held accountable.
Atalay noted that the 17 million workers, civil servants, unemployed, and retirees represented by the confederation constitute 65 percent of the country's population. He asserted that labor leaders are committed to standing against corruption and working alongside honest individuals to address the nation's labor issues.
