Eric Alain Mantot elected president of FECOFOOT
Eric Alain Mantot has been elected president of the Congolese Football Federation (FECOFOOT) following an extraordinary general assembly held on September 26, 2026, in Brazzaville. Mantot’s list secured a decisive victory with 35 out of 41 votes (87.5%), while the opposing list led by Carle Boniface Malalou received only 5 votes.
The election took place amidst significant legal and procedural tension. Prior to the vote, Malalou had requested the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne to review the eligibility of Mantot’s list, alleging that several members did not meet required criteria. Additionally, Henri Endzanga, the outgoing first vice-president, filed complaints regarding alleged identity theft and forgery involving members of the executive committee.
Despite the legal disputes and the reported arrest of a member associated with Malalou’s campaign during the proceedings, the election was allowed to proceed. However, the legitimacy of the new executive committee remains subject to potential future rulings by the CAS.
