Eric Bischoff compares WWE Netflix edits to WCW blood restrictions

Eric Bischoff has compared recent edits to WWE programming on Netflix with past corporate restrictions he faced during his tenure at WCW. Speaking on the podcast ‘83 Weeks with Conrad Thompson’, Bischoff noted that viewers have observed differences in replays, such as the removal of blood that appeared during original live broadcasts.

Bischoff recalled receiving mandates from Turner executives during his time at WCW stating, ‘There will be no blood.’ He noted that these restrictions often applied even to pay-per-view events, requiring footage to be cleaned up after the fact to satisfy corporate policy. He questioned whether WWE’s current post-production changes on streaming platforms represent a similar corporate directive regarding content standards.
