Eric Deters files defamation lawsuit against Kimberly Guilfoyle

Eric Deters, a supporter of the MAGA movement and donor to Donald Trump, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Kimberly Guilfoyle, the former US Ambassador to Greece. Deters claims to possess a 16-minute recording from Greece that he describes as “catastrophic,” suggesting its contents could cause significant political tremors within the US administration, potentially affecting high-ranking officials such as Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

The legal dispute stems from allegations regarding a $100,000 payment. Deters alleges that Guilfoyle requested the funds to cover a personal credit card debt in exchange for promised access to high-level government officials to resolve his tax issues. Conversely, legal representatives for Guilfoyle have contested the authenticity of messages reported by the Wall Street Journal, asserting that the funds were intended as fees for services and event support. Deters maintains he had previously paid approximately $300,000 for her speaking engagements.
