Eric Young, the Chief Technology Officer at Nubank, is resigning to join Meta. He will lead infrastructure at Meta’s Superintelligence Labs, focusing on advancements in AI models and personal agents.

Young will remain at Nubank until November 12, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition. During this period, Nubank founder and CEO David Vélez will directly oversee Global Platforms on an interim basis, working alongside Chief Information Security Officer John Walton, who will serve as interim co-leader of the department.

During his tenure at Nubank, Young contributed to the integration of artificial intelligence across operations and supported the expansion of Nu Global and the launch of Nu US. The company stated that this leadership change will not alter its strategic priorities.
