Ericsson selected as sole global technology partner for SK Telecom's Hyper‑AI network project
Ericsson has been chosen as the sole global technology partner in the SK Telecom‑led Hyper‑AI Network Infrastructure Demonstration Project, a government‑backed initiative coordinated by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency. The programme aims to validate AI‑RAN pilot networks that will underpin Korea's "AI Highway" strategy and its longer‑term 6G roadmap, targeting ultra‑low latency, high reliability, large uplink capacity and distributed AI processing for use cases such as autonomous transport, industrial safety monitoring and humanoid robotics.
Ericsson will provide an end‑to‑end network foundation that includes its AI‑RAN technology, the Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform and AI‑powered rApps to enable autonomous control, resource orchestration and real‑time optimization. In the project's second phase, the AI‑RAN pilot will be deployed in a real‑world logistics environment at KG Mobility's Pyeongtaek plant. Ericsson also participates as a founding member of Nvidia's GPU‑centric AI‑RAN Alliance, contributing a telco‑grade perspective to the broader AI‑RAN ecosystem.
