Eridania announces 20 million euro investment in sugar and sweeteners
Eridania, a leading Italian sugar and sweetener company, has announced a 20 million euro investment plan to strengthen its market position and accelerate development in the sweetener segment. The company reported a turnover of 217 million euros in 2025.
Approximately 75% of the funds will be allocated to logistics, specifically the construction of a new warehouse at the Russi plant. This facility is intended to become a primary hub for the Mediterranean European area, replacing the current Cervia platform. The Russi site will centralize national logistics flows, serving as the sole entry point for sugar arriving from France via rail and road. This move aims to rationalize distribution and improve efficiency across the supply chain.
The remaining 25% of the investment will fund innovation and expansion within the sweeteners segment, which has seen significant growth. The logistics project is expected to be completed by early 2028 and includes a new logistics area exceeding 10,000 square meters, capable of holding up to 95 containers.
