Erika Baikoff performs at the Schubertíada in Vilabertran

Soprano Erika Baikoff and pianist Roman Borisov performed a diverse classical program at the 34th edition of the Schubertíada in Vilabertran. The concert marked the first time the Canònica de Vilabertran has hosted a complete performance of Samuel Barber’s ‘Hermit Songs’, a collection of pieces based on medieval Irish monastic texts.

The repertoire spanned several eras and composers, beginning with Robert Schumann’s ‘Liederkreis’, op. 39. The program also included works by Nikolai Médtner and Sergei Rachmaninoff. This performance served as Borisov’s debut within the ‘Lied the future’ cycle, an initiative designed to showcase emerging European musical talent.
