Erin Krakow discusses roots in ‘Army Wives’ before Hallmark success
Actress Erin Krakow, known for her role as Elizabeth Thatcher in the Hallmark series ‘When Calls the Heart’, previously appeared in the Lifetime military drama ‘Army Wives’. Krakow played Specialist Tanya Gabriel in 18 episodes between seasons four and six of the series.
‘Army Wives’ premiered in 2007 and ran for seven seasons before being canceled in 2013. The show, inspired by Tanya Biank’s book ‘Under the Sabers’, focused on the lives and challenges of military spouses. While the series remains popular and is currently available for streaming on Hulu and Disney+, efforts to reboot the show have faced obstacles. Former cast member Sally Pressman noted that discussions regarding a reboot with ABC Studios did not progress.
