Erlend Mørch awarded Arne Hestenes Journalistpris

Comedian, series creator, and journalist Erlend Mørch has been awarded the 2026 Arne Hestenes Journalistpris. The award was presented during a press conference at the Haugesund City Hall in connection with the Norwegian Film Festival.

The jury highlighted Mørch’s unique interview technique and his ability to blend political, social, and cultural inquiries with humor. Jury member Sigrid Hvidsten noted that Mørch is not a conventional journalist, citing his background as a comedian, songwriter, and program host for NRK. The jury described his podcasts as inquisitive, intelligent, irreverent, and bold, noting his willingness to ask questions that other journalists might avoid.

Mørch, who has covered several parliamentary elections for NRK and recently covered the FIFA World Cup in his podcast, stated that this is his second journalism award and expressed motivation to continue his work.
