Erling Haaland breaks Scandinavian scoring record and files lawsuit

Erling Haaland has set new Scandinavian football records, becoming the highest-scoring male international player from the region. By scoring twice in Norway’s 3-2 UEFA Nations League victory over Denmark, he reached 65 international goals in 57 appearances, surpassing Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic and equaling Didier Drogba’s tally.

Off the pitch, Haaland’s business interests continue to grow. His British-based company, York Promotions Ltd., reported net assets of £19.6 million at the end of 2025, a significant increase from the previous year. The company primarily manages his image rights and holds interests in aircraft and software development.

However, legal action is underway as Haaland and York Promotions have filed a lawsuit against Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA. The legal dispute concerns the alleged unauthorized use of Haaland’s likeness in marketing materials during the World Cup, specifically involving a social media post that featured an edited image of the player.
