Manchester City striker Erling Haaland secured eighth place in the 2026 Ballon d’Or rankings following a prolific season. The Norwegian forward recorded 58 goals and 11 assists in 64 appearances for club and country during the 2025–26 campaign.

Haaland's season was highlighted by winning the Premier League Golden Boot for the third time in four years with 27 league goals. He also helped Manchester City secure the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup. On the international stage, he led Norway to the quarterfinals of the 2026 World Cup, scoring seven goals during the tournament, including a decisive performance against Brazil.

Despite his nomination and high ranking, Haaland did not attend the awards ceremony in London, opting instead to remain abroad.
