Erling Haaland signs record Manchester City contract

Norwegian striker Erling Haaland, who plays for Manchester City in the English Premier League and for Norway's national team, has secured a 9.5‑year deal worth roughly £6.7 million per week, making him one of the highest‑paid players in world football. Haaland began his professional career at Bryne and Molde before moving to Red Bull Salzburg, then Borussia Dortmund, where he scored 86 goals in 89 matches. At Manchester City he set the Premier League record with 36 league goals in a single season and helped the club win the treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. He also holds the record for most goals in all competitions in a season (52) and was named UEFA Men’s Player of the Year. Haaland is set to make his first World Cup appearance for Norway at the 2026 tournament.
