Erma Fatima returns to directing with Langit 2 Warna

Malaysian director and producer Erma Fatima is returning to filmmaking after a decade with her new project, ‘Langit 2 Warna’. The film features a collaboration between Malaysian and Indonesian talent.

Indonesian actors Christine Hakim and Reza Rahadian will star in the production. According to Fatima, Hakim was initially consulted for her opinion on the script before being cast, leading to a character being rewritten specifically for her. Rahadian was subsequently suggested by Hakim and joined the project after two months of negotiations, causing filming to be rescheduled to November.

The film, which explores religious themes, will be shot in Malaysia, Indonesia, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia. The cast also includes Ummi Nazeera, Heliza Helmi, Hazwani Helmi, and Zizi Kirana.
