Ermal Beqiri’s companies win AKSHI tender amid corruption arrest

Despite being arrested in France and awaiting extradition to Albania on corruption charges related to the AKSHI agency, businessman Ermal Beqiri’s companies have secured a new state tender.

The Centralized Procurement Operator (OBP) announced the winning bid for AKSHI’s internet services, awarded to the partnership of NSolution shpk and HORIZON shpk, both owned by Beqiri. The winning bid of approximately 1.95 million lek was significantly higher than competing offers. Specifically, the winning bid was 315,604 lek more expensive than the lowest offer from UNION shpk and 258,000 lek more than the offer from ONE Albania.

Investigators from SPAK have previously identified Beqiri as a central figure in a complex network of companies, including Soft & Solution, allegedly used to exploit public institutions. The recent tender results have raised concerns regarding the integrity of the public bidding process in Albania.
