Ermedin Demirović leads Champions League scoring with four goals

Stuttgart striker Ermedin Demirović has become the leading scorer in the Champions League after two matchdays. The Bosnia and Herzegovina international scored in the 90th minute during Stuttgart's 3-0 victory against Slovan Bratislava in Slovakia.

Demirović's goal was his fourth in the competition so far, following a hat-trick against Viking in the opening round. He currently shares the top scoring position with Erling Haaland of Manchester City and Nicolo Tresoldi of Club Brugge, though Demirović has achieved his tally in significantly fewer minutes on the pitch.

His late goal also contributed to a record-breaking night for the tournament, as a total of 78 goals were scored across 18 matches in the second round, surpassing the previous record of 71 goals set in the 2025/2026 season.
