Çermik's Sinek Çayı faces environmental pollution from litter

Environmental pollution caused by litter left behind by tourists has sparked public outcry in the Sinek Çayı region of the Çermik district in Diyarbakır. The area, which includes the Sinek Çayı canyon and several waterfalls such as Şeyhandede and Miyalan, attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually due to its natural and historical significance.

Local citizen Erdal Er reported an incident where a family left their picnic waste behind after being prompted to collect it. Er expressed frustration over the lack of environmental awareness and called upon local authorities to assign personnel to picnic and recreation areas to monitor visitors and ensure the protection of these natural sites.
