Ermin Mahmić nears record transfer from Slovan Liberec to Celtic

Bosnia and Herzegovina international Ermin Mahmić is nearing a high-profile transfer from the Czech club Slovan Liberec to the Scottish side Celtic. The 21-year-old midfielder, who has seen his market value rise following strong performances in the Czech league and at the World Cup, is expected to command a record-breaking transfer fee for Slovan Liberec, estimated to be around eight million euros.

Mahmić recently visited the Slovan Liberec stadium in civilian clothes to personally bid farewell to the club and its supporters. After spending several weeks training individually in Austria while transfer negotiations were finalized, his appearance at the stadium served as a symbolic conclusion to his tenure in the Czech Republic. While clubs such as Red Bull Salzburg and Basel were previously linked to the player, Celtic has emerged as the primary suitor to finalize the deal.
