Ermin Mahmić's prospective move to Vojvodina fell through

Bosnian international Ermin Mahmić, who scored twice at the World Cup, was close to joining Serbian club Vojvodina in early 2024. Scouts from Vojvodina travelled to Austria, watched him play, and praised his mentality despite a poor performance in one match. His father immediately agreed to the free‑transfer, but after ten days the family chose to pursue a trial with Czech side Slovan Liberec instead. Mahmić subsequently signed for Liberec, his market value rising to about €5 million and attracting interest from clubs such as Beşiktaş, Leipzig and Salzburg.

The Vojvodina scouts said the club never received a definitive signal from the Serbian side, so the transfer was never completed, leaving the player to continue his career in the Czech Republic.
