Ermita de San Bartolomé hosts annual pilgrimage in Soria

Residents of Ucero, Nafría de Ucero, Herrera de Soria, and surrounding areas gathered on August 24 to participate in the San Bartolomé pilgrimage. The event honored the Virgen de la Salud, who was processed from the Ermita de San Bartolomé located in the Cañón del Río Lobos.

Built in the early 13th century during the transition from Romanesque to Gothic architecture, the hermitage is a designated Bien de Interés Cultural. The site is known for its mystical reputation and the 'piedra de la Salud' (stone of Health), a floor slab where tradition dictates people stand barefoot to receive regenerative properties.
