Ernest Urtasun considers candidacy for general elections

Spanish Minister of Culture Ernest Urtasun has indicated he is open to being a candidate for the upcoming general elections, potentially representing Comuns or Sumar. Speaking to Catalunya Ràdio, Urtasun stated, “I will play my part, wherever my colleagues decide,” suggesting he would accept a leadership role if supported by party members.

Urtasun emphasized the importance of protecting the progressive government and preventing Spain from falling under the influence of Donald Trump, signaling a campaign focused on the polarization between progressivism and the far right. He also advocated for the presentation of the General State Budgets, noting they would include record investments in culture and policies to promote the Catalan language.
