Ernestina Godoy affirms Mexican sovereignty during Independence celebrations

During a civic ceremony commemorating the 216th anniversary of Mexican Independence, Attorney General Ernestina Godoy Ramos emphasized that Mexico’s sovereignty is not subject to external or internal pressures. Speaking at the National Justice Park, Godoy stated that while Mexico remains an open nation committed to international cooperation, it will not renounce its autonomy or its ability to decide its own destiny.

Godoy highlighted that defending the nation involves upholding the rule of law and combating corruption. She noted that the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) views investigating crimes and ensuring institutions serve the Mexican people as concrete ways to protect national sovereignty. She echoed the stance of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, calling for unity and justice to build a nation capable of self-determination within the international community.
